About

Tell the story straight.
Cody Hawthorne is a modern Americana and country songwriter from Lubbock, Texas. His music blends honest storytelling with warm, band-driven arrangements, drawing from country tradition and contemporary Americana.
Together with The Wildflowers, Cody writes songs rooted in everyday moments: home, distance, love, loss and the pull of the road. The sound is organic and unpolished by design, built to feel lived-in rather than produced. Cody's baritone, Emily's harmonies and fiddle, Luke's melodic guitar, Rusty's pedal steel and Sam's Hammond organ sit at the heart of it.
Tell the story straight. Let the band breathe. Leave space for the quiet parts.
The Wildflowers are not a backing band, but the musical and visual foundation of the act. Cody's younger sister Emily has grown into a full duet partner on Blacktop Halo, and sings the album's closing song, Carry It Kindly, entirely in her own voice.
The songs live in the spaces you don't always talk about: the long drives, the empty rooms, the decisions that stay with you long after the noise fades. Small-town streets, open fields and rooms that still hold echoes. Music for long drives, quiet nights, and everything you don't rush through.
Cody Hawthorne & The Wildflowers is an AI music project, developed under Hidden Layer Records. Its music and visuals are made with AI tools, but every song, image and video starts with a story and is shaped through many rounds of creative work, from the first idea to the final edit.
